Item Description
Acute ward
  • Co-payment ratio is 10% for hospitalization within 30 days
  • 20% between 31 and 60 days.
  • 30% for more than 60 days。
Chronic ward
  • Co-payment ratio is 5% for hospitalization within 30 days
  • 10% between 31 and 90 days
  • 20% between 91 and 180 days n 30% for more than 180 days .。
Exemption of co-payment
  1. Catastrophic illness (only applicable to the hospitalization caused by the diseases stated on the catastrophic illness card)。
  2. Childbirth。
  3. The patients whose insurance certificate is marked with “Ron” or “Fu”.
  4. To receive the preventive health services regulated in article 32 of national health insurance law
  5. Medical treatment in the mountainous offshore areas.
The items not included in insurance benefits (in compliance with article 39 of national health insurance law.
  1. The medical services which shall be paid by the government as regulated in other statutory laws.
  2. Preventive inoculation and the medical services which shall be paid by the government.
  3. Drug addition treatment, cosmetic surgery, non-trauma  orthodontics, preventive surgery, assisted reproductive technologies, sex-change surgery. 
  4. Patent medicines or medicines instructed by the doctor
  5. To specify a doctor, special nurse and registered nurse
  6. Blood (it is not limited to the emergency injuries of which blood transfusion is required as judged by the doctor.  
  7. Human body test
  8. Day hospitalization (it is not limited to psychiatric patient care)
  9. The expense difference from the diet and ward beyond tube feeding diet. 
  10. Patient’s transportation, registration and document fees.
  11. False teeth, artificial eyes, glasses, hearing aids, wheelchairs, crutches, and other auxiliary devices without aggressive remedy purpose.
  12. Other medical services, medicines and special material regulated by competent authorities for no payment.

◎Remarks:
1. Patients will be informed of the medical care items excluded in the health insurance by medical personnel in advance, and patient's consent in writing is required before giving medical services.
2. Any revisions made by the Bureau of National Health Insurance afterwards shall be followed accordingly.
